Salton Sea is a salt lake located in south-western U.S. Unis.Ce lake was created by a major flood occurred in Colorado in 1891. The region was then settled and major irrigation works undertaken. Salton Sea was once a picturesque landscape, with sandy beaches. Today it is damaged, full of salt and pesticides. The land surrounding it contain salt deposited by an ancient sea disappeared thousands of years. Eliminated by farmers to make arable land, it has accumulated in the lake, which is now saltier than the Pacific Ocean.
